Join the Swanton Public Library in building a lovely fairy (or troll) house or garden, in your own backyard or around town! (Make sure to send us a picture so we can revel in and show off your creation.)
You will need:
    • your imagination
    • building materials gathered from nature, and nature only! (Fairies hate plastic.)
Things like sticks or twigs, bark, moss, leaves, pebbles or rocks, pinecones, feathers, or shells are perfect materials to build your fairies home.
What kind of fairy are you building a home for? Where would they live? Beside a babbling stream? Under a shady tree or bush? Beside a patch of flowers, or perhaps they are hidden away in your garden? Find a good, safe, out of the way place for your fairy to live. (But still somewhere you could find it if you weren't looking too hard!)
When furnishing your fairies' homes think about how you can creatively use each item you've found!
    • Moss could make a nice carpet, pillow, or blanket.
    • Shells could be used as a chair, as sink, or as a bowl.
    • Pinecones could make for a christmas tree or yard ornament.
    • Use pebbles to make a path to your fairy's home or a rock wall.
    • Use sticks to build your fairy's home, and top with leaves or bark for a roof!
